Wyndcliffe Court GalleryWyndcliffe Court's Gallery houses a collection of work by painter and show curator Alex Brown. It also features bronze resin sculptures by sculptor Christine Baxter. The light and airy feature room with crystal chandelier and lamp decorations, and ornate fire surround, make for a perfect gallery space. "Alex Brown is a renaissance man in his approach to painting, embracing a wide variety of subjects including portraits, landscapes, still life and abstracts. What unifies all his work is his love of colour and observation. He approaches his work with a scientific, structured method of seeing; analysing what nature gives us to appreciate." Christine Baxter's work has strong appreciation of the aesthetic beauty of the human form and of nature; her sculptures take inspiration from the classical, the human form and objects in nature. Christine has been producing cast stone garden sculpture which has been exceptionally popular in the seasonal sculpture shows, her body of work has now evolved into bronze resin, which is both suitable for indoor and outdoor display. Both the paintings and sculptures are available for purchase from the gallery. |
